Junior School

PRE-PRIMARY

Pre-primary education offered at the school fosters to inculcate healthy habits moral values, and enhances confidence in the children.  Pre-primary section of Lakeford School could boast of providing a happy and conducive environment that makes our toddlers lovethe school atmosphere and be here with enthusiasm and cheerfulness which help them enjoy the initiation into the world of knowledge.

The pre-primary books prepared for our children ‘PLAY & LEARN’ focus on helping them to internalize learning through play-way method. The classrooms and the entire atmosphere make learning stress-free, meaningful and rewarding. The school makes use of contemporary innovative techniques to improve the psycho-motor skills in every student. Maximum attention is given to inculcate in each child good habits, manners and etiquette. Children learn under a panel of dedicated, child-friendly, dynamic and enthusiastic teachers to interact with one another, learn team spirit, co-operation that will stand them in good stead throughout their life.

The school assembly held every day for the pre-primary children helps to boost their morale, brings out the hidden talents.

Teaching-learning for these children is imparted in full-fledged classrooms with audio-visual aids. Separate park and playground are provided for the tiny tots. Music, dance, painting, drawing and other extra-curricular activities provide holistic education for them.

PRIMARY

The curriculum for class 1-5 is innovative, child-friendly and activity oriented. Maximum attention is given to fun-filled and enjoyable learning. Students are not burdened with taking notebooks home regularly to avoid rote learning. Vocabulary building, comprehension skills, oral skills, phonological awareness and so on are inculcated through class library and newspaper reading. Teaching-learning takes place simultaneously in the classroom itself. Concrete foundation is laid to develop the four skills- listening, speaking, reading and writing. Reading is made a habit among students. Hands on activities, projects, puzzles and quizzes keep them informed and engaged.

UPPER PRIMARY

The curriculum designed for the upper primary focusses on providing continuity and progression in learning for students as they move towards a more structured experience. The curriculum for students from classes 6-8 is mostly activity based that hones their hidden talents, stimulates curiosity, observation skills, team spirit and co-operation. They are provided with incredible range of opportunities where they can work individually and collaborate with their peers and faculty. Experimental learning is encouraged during this phase of study.
